Ernie and Bethy was first produced as part of the Student Alternative Theatre Company (SATCO) Spring 2018 season. It was a crowd favourite and won the 2017/2018 pick of SATCO award.
Ernie and Bethy was an easy choice for our first production with company members Molly Mcdowell Powlowski and Logan Swain involved in the original production (Director and Set Designer respectively). In addition to allowing us to work with a familiar play, choosing to mount a second production of the play provided writer Sophie Underwood the opportunity to conduct rewrites and see the play come to life a second time, a rare occurrence for emerging playwrights.
